Did you know that the North of England is home to almost a quarter of the UK’s population? So, it’s no surprise that continued investment across the region's railway is a priority. Transport for the North, Network Rail, operators and major contractors? All have an important stake.

TransCityRail NORTH 2024

Industry leaders build, shape and deliver rail infrastructure investment. They come together at TransCityRail NORTH. This year, the event celebrates its tenth anniversary. Once again, it’s time to examine the future of rail in the North. We are exhibiting! Join us in Manchester to discuss rail energy solutions.

Supplier opportunities

So, why attend TransCityRail NORTH 2024? Crucially, it offers access to an exclusive marketplace of buyers. They include Network Rail, TfL and HS2. Train operating companies and major contractors will also attend. You’ll hear from decision-makers how to become a vital supplier. Some projects are worth £billions. Plus, seize the chance to network. Connect with those who deliver Britain's rail investment strategy. They are responsible for awarding contracts.

Key discussions

As usual, there will be keynote speakers and panel discussions. Interest in the debates is guaranteed. They always prove popular. This year, discussions focus on maximising the benefits of upcoming legislative changes. Specifically, how to deliver new and improved infrastructure. Designing the railway of the future is another key topic. The aim? To meet customer needs and deliver economic growth.

  • The northern legs of HS2 are no more. So, where in the North will see £19.6 of investment? Simon Elliott, Head of Rail, Transport for Greater Manchester will discuss the opportunities.

  • Network Rail is set to spend around £2bn on its North West & Central capital delivery frameworks. Capital Delivery Director Christian Irwin OBE will share the plans. He’ll also highlight opportunities over the next five years.

  • The North needs a rail network with strong North-South and East-West connections. Suppliers can assist in delivering TfN’s strategic plan. Find out how from Transport for the North’s Chief Executive, Martin Tugwell.

  • Of course, the North East is targeting several rail projects. They include new lines and stations. Councillor Martin Gannon, Deputy Mayor at the North East Combined Authority, will outline the plans. Plus, he’ll discuss investment to deliver rail fit for the future.
