In a world that is increasingly dependent on energy, access to electricity is n nowadays more relevant than ever. Electricity not only enables us to work and communicate, but also to learn, heal and make our lives safer and more comfortable.

In other words, a reliable power supply is more than just electricity, power or energy. It brings light into the darkness. It brings hope. And above all, it shapes the future. This is also what it does for the people of Amazonas, Brazil.

Pioneering work in the heart of the Amazon

Recently, our Brazilian colleagues were able to successfully support the Brazilian federal government with their commitment and expertise in the large-scale project “Mais Luz para Todos” (More light for everyone, in short: MLA).

The aim: to provide families in the Amazonas forest region with a reliable power supply. The result: Since 2020, more than 11,800 HOPPECKE complete off-grid solar systems (so called SIFGI-systems) were installed with lead-acid and lithium batteries.

A look behind the scenes: SIGFI system

The SIGFI system (Individual Electricity Generation Systems with Intermittent Sources) consists of solar panels, power electronics, support structure and electrical cabinet. The heart of the system is HOPPECKE sun | power batteries. Under the leadership of Managing Director Antonio No, the Brazilian HOPPECKE team developed the system from scratch.
The system, including its batteries, was created in accordance with INMETRO standards and was tested in specialized laboratories and in the field with a 0% of failure rate.

“At HOPPECKE, sustainability is at the core of everything we do. We're driven by a passion for renewable energy and a deep desire to create a greener future for all. Contributing to the MLA program is an honor, and we're immensely grateful for the opportunity to empower families.”
Celso Xavier - Senior Consultant - HOPPECKE Brazil
